Philosophy

Celebrating unique minds

At Fijo Support, we completely reject the outdated idea that autistic or neurodivergent individuals need to be "fixed" or trained to act neurotypical. Our practice is fiercely neurodiversity-affirming.

The Fijo approach

We focus on changing the environment, not the person. We validate different communication styles (including Augmentative and Alternative Communication - AAC), honour sensory needs, and recognise that behaviours like "stimming" are valid and necessary forms of regulation. We focus on building upon an individual's natural strengths rather than forcing them to conform to societal expectations.
